A comment by our President, Taro Sato, has been featured in an article published by Yomiuri Shimbun, one of Japan’s leading national newspapers, on October 14, 2024.

The article, titled “Ministry of Defense to Monitor Space Debris and Foreign Satellites Using Commercial Assets”, highlights the Japanese government’s initiatives to enhance space security by leveraging private-sector technologies and expanding the defense use of space. Mr. Sato’s comments were included in relation to Japan’s “Space Security Initiative,” a framework he played a central role in formulating.

In his remarks, Mr. Sato offered insights into the future direction of Japan’s national space security policy, emphasizing the importance of public-private collaboration and the pivotal role that commercial space companies are expected to play in supporting government-led initiatives.
